TWAIN'S WORLD

Twain's World, First Floor Theater's second annual literary festival featured a selection of new ten minute plays inspired by the life and work of Mark Twain. Given the choice of three classic authors, the attendees of the annual season kickoff party selected Mark Twain as the muse for the 2014 literary festival. This brought an exciting and diverse group of playwrights into a conversation about themes in Twain's work: institutionalizing racism, satirizing civilized society and establishing a new American identity. The festival saw a full range of adaptation, offering everything from page-to-stage to musical shadow puppetry.
